The Story House

Between the lights of Portland and the slopes of Mt. Hood stands a whimsical woods of giant firs, feathery cedars and old mossy maples. Midst a maze of paths and ferns is a cozy cabin full of delightful art. Browse the uncommon birdhouses and their stories. Just steps outside the French doors is a lighted path to the bathhouse (the only bathroom) with toilet, shower, clawfoot tub and washer/dryer. Walk the paths, soak in the hot tub and end your day in the peace and quiet of a private cabin.

“The Guest Cottage” is above the garage & next to the main house on a 3 acre lot. Owners’ family lives next door. There’s a second Airbnb unit available to rent if you need room for more guests. Main space: queen bed, couch/TV & eating area. Kitchenette: microwave, mini fridge, toaster, toaster oven, coffee maker & tea pot. Full, private bathroom includes toilet, sink, & small shower. 3 mini rooms: 1 twin bed & desk each. Porta crib, hot tub, backyard, & covered pavilion available upon request.

The house sits on just under two acres with beautiful forest, a huge lawn and fire pit, swing set, hot tub, 10-hole frisbee golf course, and all the privacy you could ask for only 45 minutes from Portland. The house is 2 BR, 2 BA. It is a perfect venue for a quiet weekend in a beautiful location.

Walking down the path from the parking area you will see the confluence of Canyon Creek and the Washougal River and cabin nestled amongst cedar trees where you will be staying. The cabin was originally built in the 1920's as a vacation home for a predominate Portland Judge. A century later and the spirit of this escape is alive and well with a full remodel providing modern amenities in a beautiful and rustic setting.
