The property has an enormous central living room with sofas around the fireplace, leading onto a covered terrace for dining and out onto a stepped garden down to the pool. Cosy for couples and ideal for families, the property has been designed for elegance and accessibility.

The perfect tranquil destination for family or friends, this charming 17th century traditional stone cottage offers delightful accommodation for up to six people. Hidden away at the end of a quiet country lane in southern Charente, it is situated along the lower southern boundary of Les Chauvins, with its own entrance and private courtyards to front and back. A large pool nestles within the stone walls of a former barn and the grounds offer ample places to play, relax and enjoy the views.

The building is over 200 years old and has been completely refurbished in 2024. We welcome you to our "Maison du Gardien" ( The Caretaker’s House) a 19th Century distiller's house which has been lovingly renovated to create a place of contemporary design, contemplation and relaxation. Located next to our own home you can enjoy an evening meal on your own private terrace but also get the use of our pool, gym, bikes and parking on our gated property. The two bedroom house is light and airy with beautiful views over our garden which reaches down to the river Charente.

This idyllic French stone house can sleep up to five people. It has two bedrooms, a large living room with a woodburner, a fitted kitchen with a large dining table and two shower rooms, one on each floor. The rear bedroom has a balcony that overlooks the garden with a ruined abbey and the Charentaise countryside beyond. Outside there's a summer kitchen, a small terrace and a lawned garden. The village has a delightful cake shop, a popular restaurant, artisanal stores and a museum.
