The Acorn Guest House is a two-level, self-contained accommodation located 2 minutes from the ferry landing in Balfour, BC and only 30 minutes from Nelson. Walk or ride your bike right out the door on our trails and take in one of the classes or events at For-rest Retreat. Salmo is the perfect place to stay and explore the beauty of the Kootenays.

Kick off your shoes and take in the serene view at our cozy hilltop suite. Enjoy a kitchen stocked with every comfort you expect, plus specialty coffee equipment you’ll love. Wind your way across the road and down the trail to our private sandy beach, and roast some marshmallows on the campfire while you’re there. Novelty and adventure are nearby: only 3 minutes to Nelson, 28 minutes to Whitewater Ski Hill, and 1 minute to Lyons Bluff hiking trail.

Conveniently located between Nelson (45 mins S), Balfour (15 mins S)Kaslo (15 mins N) World renowned Ainsworth Hot-spring is walking distance (across the road) which are known for their awesome caves.

The Cedar Cottage is a 1 bedroom, cozy and romantic cottage with all the needed amenities. Numerous windows allow ample light in with the feeling of being nestled in the trees. A covered garage is provided for guests to park. Beautiful deck nestled in the cedars with glimpses of the Purcell Mountain range and Kootenay Lake. Access world class mountain bike trails or walk the river trail right from the Cedar Cottage.

Our guest suite has a modern rustic feel & can accommodate 3 guests. There is an ensuite bathroom & a separate room with a microwave, hotplate, breakfast sandwich maker, mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker and a tea kettle. There are plates, bowls, cutlery, etc and a rustic wine barrel dining table. The cupboards are stocked with local tea and coffee, with cream in the fridge and snack. There is a bbq for guests use also

A private forest tiny home designed for slow mornings and wood stove evenings, just five minutes from downtown Nelson.
