Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

Hawkhow Cottage compromises four bedrooms and sleeps seven comfortably or eight cosily. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms (one King, one double and one twin) and a bathroom. Downstairs there is an additional bedroom (small double), a shower room and a traditional Aga-warmed kitchen. The glass and oak-framed extension provides a large living room with log burning stove and a galleried dining area. The property will be prepared ready for your arrival with freshly laundered bed linen and bath towels supplied for your stay. We have provided a selection of games, puzzles and toys to keep you entertained inside (and the optional use of a TV and Xbox One) as well as books, maps and guides to help you plan your activities outside. There is ample parking on-site. Guests also have shared use of the main house’s extensive gardens and grounds, including the sauna. Please note that the garden is steep with drop-offs in places, it has a number of steps and paths that can be extremely slippery, as well as running water courses, ponds and bridges. As well as having Ullswater on your doorstep for sailing, kayaking and wild swimming, there are a number of fabulous walks and bicycle rides that can be started from the cottage without ever needing to get into your car. Keen walkers can even start the climb to Helvellyn by walking up the garden to join recognised footpaths. Glenridding is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the Lake and provides a number of cafes, pubs and shops as well as access to the famous Ullswater Steamers. A slightly longer walk along the Lake in the opposite direction will take you past Glencoyne Bay, the inspiration for William Wordsworth’s ‘Daffodils’ poem, to the popular Aira Force waterfall and trails maintained by the National Trust.

Lakeway is a beautiful, cottage on the fringe of the Lake District National Park. It is situated 2.5 miles from Pooley bridge and is a 5 minute walk from the quaint village of Tirril, which has its own Country Pub. You can walk the Eamont Way to Pooley Bridge or hop on the bus from Tirril. Lakeway has 4 double bedrooms, the master bedroom is ensuite and there is a large living / dining area which has plenty of room to relax with friends or family. Tongue Cottage is a delightful one bedroomed property in Watermillock. An area of outstanding natural beauty within the Lake District National Park, only a mile from Ullswater. It provides a unique location for walking, honeymoons, or romantic getaways and is perfect for that special anniversary, birthday or simply for those just wanting to relax. Located next to the owners’ home, but still maintaining solitude and privacy, the cottage is surrounded by open fields and is a haven for wildlife.

Nord Vue Barn

Nord Vue Barn is conveniently situated in the Lakeland village of Penruddock, which benefits from very easy access to the M6. The property was an 18th Century barn which the owners converted to an extremely spacious holiday cottage, with the best of traditional and modern features. It is ideally situated for fell walking, running, mountain biking, stand up paddle boarding and other mountain and lake activities. The cottage encourages a hygge-style approach to cosiness, relaxation and wellbeing.

The Cottage at 15th century Sparket Mill

This is the old miller’s cottage of a 15th century mill, situated in secluded part of the Northern Lake District National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site. Stay in a unique one bedroom apartment , with its own private entrance, bedroom upstairs with a kingsize bed. There is a downstairs lounge and en-suite. Situated on the corner of a river, surrounded by wildlife and wildflower meadows, only 5 minutes from the shores of Ullswater and 15 from the mountain ranges of Helvellyn and Blencathra.

Garden Flat, Ullswater: Fabulous views and reviews

Stunning views of Ullswater... Very special... Perfect... Well equipped... Spotless and clean... Fantastic host... No picture of our panoramic view can really do justice to The Garden Flat. But we hope those words from our most recent reviews do. The flat is in an elevated 19th century former hunting lodge. The Ullswater Way walking route is at the end of the drive. Down the hill is the Brackenrigg Inn, with its own microbrewery, and Another Place, with lake swimming and spa facilities.

The Bothy nr Ullswater, Lake Distct

The Bothy is a small snug barn conversion adjoining our home close to Ullswater The living accommodation on the ground floor is open plan and has green electric heating and a wood burning stove in a sandstone inglenook, a wooden staircase leads to a bedroom with ensuite facilities. The Farriers Lodge is located above the Horse and Farrier pub in the picturesque village of Dacre. It is perfect for couples and single travellers looking to explore the Lake District - being only 3 miles from Lake Ullswater you'll find plenty of things to see and do. Fair warning - being above a busy pub there can be some noise heard from the pub below. Current pub opening times: Monday - closed Tuesday to Saturday - 12pm to 10pm Sunday 12pm to 5.30pm

The village has a pub & a small shop. A 5 minute drive from the historic market town of Penrith which has a selection of supermarkets, cafes, restaurants & amenities. Easy access to the A66 for Keswick. Very convenient to get to from the M6 motorway (junction 41).
