This trip will show you the best of Santa Cruz & Isabela island. You will get to see the amazing highlights of the Galapagos Islands with us. You will stay in tourist class hotels with a private room and bathroom. This tour includes several meals, transportation on and between the islands and the activities mentioned in the tour itinerary.

Highlights:
-Los Tuneles: Snorkel in the clear waters and swim with a lot of different unique animal species.
-Santa Cruz Highlands: You will be surrounded by impressive flora and fauna, including giant tortoises in their natural habitat and unique volcanic features.
-Tintoreras Islet: A place where white-tip sharks known as Tintoreras come daily to rest at the bottom.
-Bay Tour: You will visit the highlights around Puerto Ayora by boat, snorkel with seal lions and spot sharks and blue footed boobies.
-Tortuga Bay: A beach with subtle and soft white sand, captivating blue waters and marine iguanas.

I am Rebecca Braak. I have a Masters Degree in International Management. Several years ago, I decided to go to Ecuador to volunteer on a horse ranch in the Andes. It was a new culture for me, a new language, but also a new opportunity to start from scratch. That’s when I started Rebecca Adventure Travel, a Tour company located in Quito, Ecuador.

My goal with this company is to design the most impressive trips through the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, Colombia and Peru. With my experience with horses, tourism and business, both in Holland and Ecuador, I am sure these tours will offer an incredible experience. All tours are personally selected by me, and co-hosted by Andres Reinoso, who has an MBA on Tourism Enterprises and more than 10 years of experience in the tourism industry.

Was the tour nice? Absolutely! The activities were enjoyable and we were happy with the hotels we stayed in. Did we see plenty of the magnificent animals that one can observe in their natural habitat in Galapagos? Most certainly, what an amazing place and biodiversity, we enjoyed the tours. Is there room for improvement in the organization of activities? Probably. A couple of times we were told to be ready in the morning at a specific time and had to wait more than an hour before getting picked up, that is not ideal while on vacation. During an activity on Isabela only one of two guides showed up and we were told (we can not know for sure whether it’s true) that the other one got too drunk and could not be present that day. Fortunately the guide who did show up is a really great guide, however he only spoke Spanish and German, some people could help translating but things get lost in translation. This does not depend on Rebecca or the agencies she works with but I hope there were consequences for that guide as it is not acceptable to behave in such unprofessional manner. We actually want to point out that Alex, our tour operator/organiser was amazing and did the best he could to make it a great experience!! Lastly, after the walk to the wall of tears the driver forgot to come pick us up before 6pm when the national park closes, which meant we had to walk 2 additional km after the 10km that were planned, even the guide was speechless and not particularly happy with the situation. Suggested improvements : - We found that the walk to the wall of tears was a bit pointless. The tour and history once you’re at the wall of tear is interesting, but walking there 5km appeared to be useless. It’s not the distance, but the vegetation in the Christmas period was repetitive and not particularly worth it. Most other groups of tourists go there by bike and I would recommend doing the same as it takes less time and the overall experience would probably benefit. - Maybe spending one more day in Isabela and one less in Santa Cruz could improve the overall experience of the tour, Isabela probably is the nicest island in my opinion. In conclusion we enjoyed the tour, and even thought the description of the negative aspects ended up taking more space than the positive we would recommend this tour to fellow travellers as our overall rating shows.
