“Central Market Hall is a Neo-Romantic-Eclectic style building, although highly touristic, it is popular among inhabitants, too. Ground floor is for the tipical market, upstairs area is for souvenirs, and buffets (you can try Langos here, a bit overpriced, though).”

“ne of the main centres of Budapest’s local live-music scene is the Budapest Jazz Club, set in a vintage cinema in District XIII. Often listed among the best venues in renowned magazine, DownBeat, the BJC has seen Ravi Coltrane, Stacey Kent, Joshua Redman and Lonnie Smith grace its stage. The club also gives a platform to young talent, hosts several of Hungary’s main jazz events and its friendly café and restaurant are a great place to hang out before a concert.”

“The Klauzál Square Market Hall was built in the place of a burned-down theater in 1897. The once imposing structure with three hundred retail outlets was renovated in 1987 and then in 2015. This time the city administration dreamed up a hall with new features and spaces, and the plan came true in October. The building is still accessible through the main entrances at Klauzál Square and Akácfa Street, and customers can go to the brand new mezzanine level by stairs, escalator or elevator. In addition to farmers’ tables and display cabinets, numerous catering units, fine bakeries, as well as traditional artisans and suppliers will await customers seven days a week. Do not miss out to try the pancakes on the first floor.”

“The huge windows of the café and restaurant look on the Danube-bank and Szent István Park, and they also have a terrace which is the ideal place for eating an ice cream sundae during the summer. They offer quality food, whether we order á la carte or choose from the chef’s offers, yet the emphasis is on the confectionery selection which is presented in a giant cooling counter.”
