“Ithaca has its own literary festival each spring, and a history as a wellspring for writers. Some of the more famous who have been inspired, written or taught here include: Vladmir Nabokov, Kurt Vonnegut, Thomas Pynchon, Pearl S. Buck, E.B. White, Brian Hall, Alison Lurie, Leslie Daniels, Rod Serling, Toni Morrison... and many more. Buffalo Street Books is Ithaca’s very own cooperative bookstore, with an eclectic collection of titles. Each week there are usually two or three authors reading from their latest works or available to answer questions. It's a wonderful place to spend an hour or two rummaging through fascinating topics, themes and individualized staff picks. Highly recommended!”
