They have really delicious sour dough bread (my favourite has cranberries in it!) and incredible pastries such as the rum cinnamon bun. Mmm.... They also have good coffee in case your looking for something a little stronger then the regular pore available at our apartment

This is a place I've been frequenting since I was a little girl. If my memory serves my right it was one of the first places in Reykjavik to serve hamburgers, and my dad says we also use to go there because the owner didn't mind that my parents brought all of their kids with them (I have 2 brothers;)). Today they serve many traditional Icelandic dishes such as lamb and fish.

Shopping

Our local fish store. This is how we buy fish. As fresh as you can find it (well, if you're not enjoying it right on the harbour) Try taking with you 'plokkfiskur' to heat up in the oven. You can even grab some ryebread which is perfect with butter as thick as the slice. They also have a small lunch restaurant open on week days.

Essentials

One of the oldest neighbourhood shops in Iceland. We are still to find the item they don't sell. A little bit more expensive than the super markets but an experience in itself.

Well, you never know! If you fancy a movie you might want to go to Laugarásbíó theater. They are the only theater in Reykjavik which serves Coca Cola with the pop corn... the others just carry Pepsi:)
