Sightseeing

An easy flat walk from our smallholding with a cafe, pasty shop, and bike hire. You will find our (unofficial) path onto the trail directly opposite the entrance to our drive. Be careful crossing the road. This path is uneven, muddy and overgrown. Easier access to the trail can be had at the car park 300m up the road. Turn right from our drive and take the first left and the carpark is on the right.

A picturesque woodland with some open glades, this reserve also contains a water-filled quarry. The Kennel Vale gunpowder factory was located here; however it closed in the first decade of the last century. It is a great reserve for wildlife, such as the pipistrelle bat, as well as an abundance of birdlife

A stunning cove on the North Coast with walks to clifftop ruined tin mines. The cafe in the car park is famous for its Hedgehog Ice-cream (no hedgehogs are harmed in the process). Summer parking can be tight so best to park at the Wheal Coates carpark and walk down the coast path to the beach.
