Great food and atmosphere - sports bar that plays music videos on all the screens when there aren't sports on. Also has a separate pool table area and dining room for a sit down meal.
Known for their gumbies! (essentially just lightly fried boneless chicken strips in your choice of sauce - I highly recommend the honey bbq, honey buffalo, or the buffalo sauce).

Downtown Portsmouth, Market Square, has an eclectic collection of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and retail shops where just about everyone can find something they like. The downtown area is right on the waterfront, so its a great place to go for a walk along the water. Prescott Park is a great place to relax, wander or catch a show during the summer months. Portsmouth is a very historic town, settled in the early 1600's, and has a very old feel to it. There are historic buildings all spreadout through the town and the historic North Church (1855) is right in the middle of Market Square.
