There are many excellent trails around Jamestown as long or short as you want. One above our house goes by the "Blue Jay Mine" and brings you through some big beautiful meadows. Another is up "Ward Street" along James Creek. Find your way along a rocky path, newly created since the 2013 flood came through.

This beautiful narrow canyon south of Boulder is home to some of the best rock climbing around. Even if you don't climb, there is an excellent picnic site or two, and you can easily watch the rock climbers. There also is a stream-fed pool.

The Chautauqua Auditorium hosts seasonal plays and concerts. There is the Chautauqua Dining Hall which is a good restaurant with a large porch for outdoor seating in the summer. It is part of the beautiful park at the foot of the Boulder "Flatirons" impressive rock formations.
