Somewhere a little different
Just a short drive (or bike ride downhill) from our home is The Wave. The car park is a fair walk from the entrance so do note this and wear comfy shoes (kids would love scooters for this walk). You'll need to book a spectator pass online before arriving.
There is a small children's play area, viewing platforms, amazing cafe, surf shop and an amazing vibe. Book a surf lesson and make a day of it.

A local, new cafe and Alpaca centre. The cafe sells locally sourced food and drinks and offers free parking, in a location a three minute drive from the house. Wander around the paddock and learn about Alpacas, you can book to meet and walk an Alpaca too. The Alpaca Barn is directly opposite Alveston park so handy if you have small children who need entertaining and are looking for somewhere local and inexpensive.

Our local pub, just across the main road and five minutes down the hill. Has a pay & display car park outside but you can redeem your parking ticket inside the pub to get your money back. Log fire, traditional and tasty pub food. Always busy so do book.
