Sightseeing

LCRA park 1 hour away. 8 miles of hiking along Lake Buchanan. Take a Vanishing River Boat Cruise, or my favorite is the Observatory! Check dates for availability. Very knowledgable guide can show you all the constellations with his laser beam. Take a turn observing the stars with their high-powered telescope. Worth the Trip! Don't forget to look for bald eagles!

Check the schedule to make sure the program is operating, but a fantastic place to see the stars. The guide is very knowledgable and points to the stars and constellations with his laser pointer. You can also take turns with the high-powered telescope. Super cool. Hike around the LCRA park on 8 miles of trails along the lake before heading to the observatory.

Along this approximate 7.75 mile mostly concrete trail you will find extensive natural scenic and peaceful views. The newest opening of phase V meanders along Brushy Creek for an out and back 1 mile trek just west of Chisholm Trail Road in Round Rock. The trail then continues for over 6 miles beginning just west of Great Oaks Drive and meandering along Brushy Creek to Twin Lakes Park in Cedar Park. The parks that lie along the trail provide many different amenities accessible to walkers, joggers and bikers. Together, the parks offer splash pads, swimming areas, climbing rocks, fishing docks, canoeing and kayaking, restrooms and multiple picnic and pavilion areas.
