Village Life

As a finalist in Britain in Bloom Croston is just stunning and a lovely place to visit. The local people are very friendly, the village scenery is stunning and there are are plenty of places to eat and drink. Croston is simply a great base for a short break or holiday. In the village we have 4 different pubs each one with its own atmosphere and menu selection. The Black Horse run by Andrew and Tracey serves traditional English food and numerous cask ales, it has wooden booths at the rear which overlook a bowling green, it also shows major sports on tv and runs quizzes regularly. The Wheatsheaf is the village outdoor hub, Jon serves a great menu and a wide choice of drinks including an extensive Gin range. The Nelson is a good place to drink and watch live music at weekends. There's also the Panshi our village Indian Restaurant also does takeaway and Croston Fish and Chip Shop which is famous in the local area. Croston Sports Club has a great menu too with Burgers and Chicken Wings to die for. You can mix with the locals while having a pint and watching Cricket on the pitch behind.
