Top spots to watch the sun go down

Whether it's a barbecue on the beach or a G&T on the terrace, here are a select few of our favorite places to enjoy a sun-downer!
The most chilled out evening you could hope for thanks to a beautiful setting and an authentic Sri Lankan curry. YES!!...curry on the beach totally works! Opening times: Open from Easter until sometime in September. During the day they serve snacks and light lunches. Curry is generally from Thursday-Saturday, 5-7pm, There is no booking process, just turn up, grab a spot on the beach and then get in line, but when they run out it’s closing time. For a hearty breakfast or lazy brunch head to The Coffee Cabin in Appledore. This cosy little cafe serves really great food, freshly prepared with truly local ingredients. The coffee is lovingly prepared and the home-made cakes are to die for!

Roo's favorite walks & dog friendly beaches

Made up of a 2.5km long, sandy beach, backed by a pebble ridge with Northam Burrows Country Park behind, Westward Ho! is a local favorite all year round. Wild and bracing in the winter, and popular with families, surfers, kite surfers and SUP boarders throughout the summer. Dogs are permitted from October to April on the whole beach and all year round at the Northam Burrows end. There is ample car parking and disabled parking close to the beach.

A beautiful sheltered walk through ancient coastal woodland path thats opens onto the coastal path. From here you can follow the coast path to Mouthmill, a dramatic rock arch on a pebble beach.
