The Newport pool is a year-round indoor swimming facility located at 225 SE Avery St, Newport, OR 97365, as part of the Recreation Center. The pool offers recreational swimming, swim lessons, lap swims, water fitness, special event swims, swim team, and pool rentals. (A great place for a birthday party!) Our heated indoor pool is 25 yards, eight lanes, a one meter diving board, an activity pool with lazy river, and a spa. We offer programming to accommodate all different interests, from quiet time for Mommy and Me, to fun and energized recreational swims. Check out our programs and come by for a swim!

The Hatfield Marine Science Center is Oregon State University's marine research facility. The Visitor Center has aquariums, displays and exhibits that highlight the research conducted by 200 marine scientists. The Visitor Center offers programs for groups, guided nature walks, films, and talks. Our well-stocked bookstore has books, clothing, posters, games and more.

Located just north of Newport in the federal Bureau of Land Management’s Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, the Yaquina Head Lighthouse was built in 1873, and remains an excellent example of late 1800s lighthouses. At 93 feet, the tower is the tallest lighthouse in Oregon. Located on a narrow point of land jutting due west into the Pacific Ocean, the Yaquina Head Lighthouse took more than a year to build, using more than 370,000 bricks.
