Sight Seeing
Enjoy the free 20 minute award winning film that details the history of the Blue Ridge Parkway and its construction. Nice little gift shop, bathrooms, and trail maps available, as well as a full Parkway Map of its 400 miles. While the Blue Ridge Parkway is a National Park, no fees are required to enter and enjoy the designated "Motor" Park. Much of the Parkway closes from November/December to early April, but the Visitors Center and this section around Asheville generally remain open.

Wonderful loop trail out of this campground (Caney Creek trail) as well as access to what I call "Little Sliding Rock." Trail passes Cove Creek Falls. Out house bathrooms are available. Parking is available at the bottom of the gated road (gated road is for access to the campground only - others must walk up the road to the trailhead) on the National Forest Road 475. Cove Creek empties into Searcy Creek and another great swimming hole is on the other side of FR 475. Daniel Ridge Falls trailhead and parking is just a few miles further down FR 475, for another delightful hike and waterfall stop. this is also a wonderful Mountain Bike Loop.
