We love JP Seafood! The three of us are vegetarian and are very happy there because it isn't all fish. Korean and other pan-Asian food. Great for families with kids especially on the early side. Friendly service and just a few blocks from our home.

One of my favorite places. Cuban food! Delicious, authentic and affordable. It's about a mile away but a nice walk. The fried plantains are amazing (maduros are ripe and sweet and tostones are the green plantains mashed and fried. I love the rice and beans with salad and tostones. Carnivore friends swear by the ropa vieja (shredded beef) or chicken fricassee but there are plenty of other choices as well. Try the tropical shakes!

Not in Jamaica Plain but if you like small hole-in-the-wall authentic cheap eats you will love this place! Friendly service, comfy spot and nearby Fenway Park. It's one of our favorites.

I hear it's almost impossible to get in but it's supposed to be the best seafood spot around. If you're heading to the North End (beautiful and quaint Italian section of Boston) see if you can get a reservation.

Israeli restaurant with amazing falafels, hummus and other Middle Eastern specialties. One town over from JP in Brookline. Parking generally can be found and the neighborhood, Coolidge Corner, has a great bookstore and lots of other shops.

Beacon Hill is another lovely, quaint, old and historic part of Boston with lots of nice shops and restaurants. The old houses on cobblestone streets are just beautiful.

Four houses away from us and across the street is the lovely Jamaica Pond. It's a mile and a half walk around the pond so great for a casual stroll or a walk. Nice for picnics or just sitting on a bench watching the sunset.
