It is an island of serenity and beauty located off the Kisumu- Bondo road. It takes approximately 45 minutes with a speed boat direct from Kisumu. A wide variety of animals like hippos, baboons, monitor lizards, snakes, Nile crocodiles, impalas, sitatunga antelope, waterbucks, zebras and different species of birds can be found at the park.

They conduct prayers and fasting sessions at the facility. It is also a pilgrimage site for the Legio Maria sect. There is a picnic area just below the rocks where you can spend some quality time with your family or friends.

My favorite place
It is located approximately 3 kilometres from Kisumu CBD. It is a beautiful sanctuary that hosts impalas, vervet monkeys, the rare sitatunga antelope, buffalos, giraffes, cheetahs, zebras and other primates. It is also home to five campsites with spectacular views of Lake Victoria, the world’s second largest freshwater lake. The sanctuary is a perfect spot for birdwatching, nature walks, boat rides and hiking activities.
