Drinks & Nightlife

One of the best places to be on a Saturday night, Warehouse cafe is a cafe where you could get the best booze with good food on offer too. I have been there personally several times and enjoy every bit of it. I strongly recommend it to my guests.

The UNESCO listed Humayun's Tomb built in the 16th century is a stone's throw away; which together with the lush greenery, lends an archaic charm to this place. This monument is a must visit for every guest and is one of the most amazing sights during sunrise.

Situated 9 kms away from my place, Red Fort was the residence of the Mughal emperor of India for nearly 200 years, until 1857. It also houses a number of museums. In addition to accommodating the emperors and their households, it was the ceremonial and political centre of Mughal government and the setting for events critically impacting the region. Behind the red fort is Chandni Chowk, which is the oldest and busiest market of Delhi. Chandni Chowk's speciality is its variety and authenticity: food, delicacies and sweets of more than 1,000 kinds, sarees (a tradition women dress) with chikan and zari. Narrow lanes host shops sell books, clothing, electronic, consumer goods, shoes and leather goods. It is the location of the original Haldiram's and brands such as Gianis. A particular local delicacy are the jalebis, which are fried in pure ghee (clarified butter). This is a must visit location for travellers all across the world. The Cloth Market, supplies home furnishing fabrics, including ready-made items as well as design services.

Not many people visit India and not go to see the Taj Mahal. And if you come as close as Delhi, you must go see the 7th Wonder of the World which attracts almost 8 million visitors every year. Taj Mahal is situated in a town named Agra which is 207 kms away from Delhi. A day trip to Agra would be ideal for people interested in history and sightseeing. A day trip to Agra could also be arranged with prior intimation

Located just across the road, Nizamuddin Dargah is the mausoleum of one of the world's most famous Sufi saints, Nizamuddin Auliya (1238 - 1325 CE). The tombs of poet Amir Khusro and Mughal princess Jehan Ara Begum are also located within the Nizamuddin Dargah complex, and Inayat Khan's tomb is just around the corner. An evening at the Dargah will give you a spiritual feeling though it can get really crowded. It is all worth it though
