One of the very best vegetarian restaurants in New Zealand... the location is just excellent and the food is just unbeatable (under 5 min drive from our place).
This place has the view to the sea, with a sheltered sunny north facing courtyard, six rotating craft beer taps, botanical cocktails, local & organic wines.

Maranui cafe is one of the most popular cafe in Wellington (20 min walk from our place). It is ideal for breakfast, brunch or lunch... the view of the ocean and the atmosphere is great... just be prepared that there might be a half an hour wait for getting a table, if you go there on the weekend or public holiday.

ParrotDog Brewery and Bar is a good place to try some excellent local beer. It's quite a large bar and good place to go with family.

An excellent 2 hour walk by the beach, to the seal colony... beautiful scenery, very popular but not overcrowded... one of the most exiting activities that you can do in wellington.

Taking the bus may not be the best option
Buses are relatively expensive in NZ... if you are travelling in a pair, then the cost of an Uber would be just a little more expensive than taking the bus...
If you do take the bus, make sure you buy a Snapper card (the bus fair is cheaper if you pay with Snapper card)
