Walk to King Island at low tide, after a picnic at beautiful Wellington Point. At low tide, the ocean opens up a path to historic King Island and many walk the 20 minutes each way. Wear sand shoes or thongs for shells on seabed.
Just bath in the sun, read the history on the plaques or wander around King Island, which was once home to a family.

Hop on a passenger ferry for the 8 minute ride to beautiful Coochiemudlo and its beaches. The ferry stops at Main beach, or walk to Norfolk Beach to the east. The Northern beach offers historic sites and snorkelling opportunities. Beaches are best from 30 minutes after high tide, when it becomes a wide sandy beach. There's many trees for shade and a cafe right across from the ferry.
Coochiemudlo is fairly unspoiled. There's showers and toilets near the beach.
We either pack a picnic basket, or just grab lunch from either Curlew Cafe or Red Rock Cafe.
