These are my recommendations if you are looking for some food in the centrum of Bucharest
Be sure to make a reservation at Caru' Cu Bere, as they are usually fully booked if you wish to be seated inside; and you do! It is located in the historic centrum of Bucharest and offers traditional Romanian dishes. However, this is not why I recommend it; despite the food being good. The venue is amazing. Designed by an Austrian archited in the style of Gothic Revival this place has all the features you need to be awed. Definately worth it to enjoy a traditional romanian dish. My recommendation is a "tochitura" which is a mix of meats, or the pork leg.

Prices are good, internet is free, the atomosphere is great. I have never had the need to make a reservation and always found a little spot. I usually come here to do some work and enjoy their Ice Frappuchino with their lunch. The lunch changes every week so you never know what to expect; but its always good!

A quick bite; Luca! You see them everywhere, and there is good reason for that. They offer hearty snack food and pizza at a great price. There are many competitors offering the same but for me Luca always wins. Because they are so popular (also among locals) the food is always fresh and warm. I usually get three; the Covri Luca, Luca Tradicional, and Luca Haiducesc. This will set me back 10 lei and fill me up till dinner! Lines can be long during lunch; but always worth the wait.

Every time I visit the center of Bucharest I can't help myself walking into this beautiful and serene East-Orthodox nunnery. I don't exactly know its history but I can feel it. Its a tiny church with an amazing nunnery attached to it. I have been fortunate enough to pass by on Sundays and hear the nuns during their mass. I recommend this to you becase of the feeling it gives me each and every time I step insides it's gates. There is a lady preventing people from taking photos inside the church; please respect her. For the selfie-lovers out there the gardens are free for photography and yield much better shots anyways. The gates however, are closed a lot of the time too. Make sure to pass by again if you find your access denied.

Stavropoleos Monastery

I never spend a lot of time here, but just love to walk in, do my circle and walk out again. The building is what attracts me; and it being filled with antiques helps that feeling of its history.

I never spend a lot of time here, but just love to walk in, do my circle and walk out again. The building is what attracts me; and it being filled with antiques helps that feeling of its history.
Located in the heart of Bucharest you will find Cismigiu Park. This 17 hectare park dates back to 1847 when designed by a German architect. Central to the park is a large lake where you can rent boats during the summer or ice-skate during the winter months. The park has style and character. Bucarest has many parks in and outside of the center but Cismigiu is by far my favorite. During the summer months it is amazing to see how appreciated this park is by the locals. There is litteraly a part of the park where the elderly meet, where the children play, and where the youth hang out. Very diverse and very secure. There is 24hr security at the park all year round. Interestingly the park get its name from the fountain located in the center of the lake. In turkish a fountain is "cișmea" and the caretaker of the fountain is called the "Cismigiu".

Besides it being always changing it also is always growing. Every time I pass by I see more and more great art drawn on the sides and gates of the buildings on the street. It's a great place to go and take some pictures. Not into selfies? The entire area is filled with architectural beauties. Continue your walk up to gradina Icoanei and from there find your way to Bd. Dacia and you will be stunned by amazing historic architecture.
