The original world famous Lascaux caves were discovered in the 1940s, and since then 2 reproductions have been made due to the environmental impact on the original from visitors -Lascaux II and since Decmber 2016, Lascaux 4. Lascaux 4 includes all of the original cave art and is housed in a purpose-built, low impact modern structure just outside the historic town of Montignac.

Having a great vantage point on top of a hill, the castle and it's town can be seen for miles! Recommended. Can be combined with the Gardens of Marquessac, Beynac or La Roc Gageac as all are in the same vicinity.

Stunning riverside location, picnic benches, restaurant/bar overlooking the river, very popular for swimming.
