Casa Batlló is a building designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí, the highest representative of Catalan modernism. It is a comprehensive remodeling of a previously existing building on the site, the work of Emilio Sala Cortés. It is located at number 43 of Passeig de Gracia in Barcelona, the wide avenue that runs through the Ensanche district (Eixample), in the so-called Manzana de la discordia, because it houses, in addition to this building, other works by modernist architects: the Amatller house, which borders Gaudí's, the work of Josep Puig i Cadafalch; the Lleó Morera House, the work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner; the Casa Mulleras, by Enric Sagnier; and the Casa Josefina Bonet, by Marceliano Coquillat. The construction was carried out between the years 1904 and 1906
