It also has delicious home-made food in it's cafe, a wonderful gift shop and discovery centre. It has won over 25 awards for sustainability, quality, innovation and customer service. It is a conservation and education charity dedicated to inspiring people to care for wildlife and the natural environment.

The National Museum of Flight is about a 15 minute drive at East Fortune. Good for rainy day but take your umbrella because there is walking between the exhibits outside.
You can see inside different aeroplanes including Concorde. Reputed to be the UK's best-preserved Second World War airfield.

The village of Dirleton is so pretty and this castle and its gardens situated right in the village is a lovely visit. There's lots of nooks and crannies to explore in the castle ruins and we love wandering round imagining it in its heyday.

We love the Penguin colony here and actually booked an experience to feed them. Sun bears, flamingoes, rhinos, koalas, sloths, monkeys - lots of animals to see and learn about.
