Swim or boat at the lake.
While it's quite a bit far away, it's doable as a summer day trip from Twain Harte, and definitely worth the effort to get there. We're still searching for its companion, Stereo Lake.

Road closures in the winter
The Sonora Pass and Tioga Pass are tricky drives in the winter, and are usually closed then, and/or require carrying chains or a 4-wheel drive vehicle to navigate safely. Inform yourself of road closures ahead of time.
