1 hour away from the studio: Tramway L2 (direction Port Lympia) to Garibaldi / Le Château, then bus 82 (bus stop Boyer) Eze is a most worthy day-trip while visiting Cote d'Azur. It is a reasonably short bus trip (1,5 EUR) from Nice and affords one of the greatest views of the French Riveria. Tour the castle and its gardens and take in the small shops and nice restaurants, especially LaTaverne d'Antan. Places to see: 1) Visit a perfume factory "Fragonard and Galimard" - guided tours are FREE and taken by a perfume specialist 2) Walk through the old city 3) Visit the botanical garden of Jardin Exotique on the top of the mountain (6 EUR) 4) Find Nietzsche's path and go down to the sea (you can then take the bus 100 to go back to Nice)

47 min from the studio by train (from Nice-St-Augustin) or 90min by bus (Tramway L2 to Port Lympia and then bus 100). I prefer the last option as the view is really amazing and it is worth an additional 40min of transport. The Principality of Monaco is one of the most beautiful and richest cities on the French Riviera. Places to visit: 1) Walk around the Old Town (tour the Palais du Prince, visit the Musée Oceanographique and the Monaco Cathedral) 3) Walk around Jardin Exotique 4) Sunbathe at Larvotto Beach 5) Explore the Jardin Japonais 6) Visit Casino Square

60 min from the studio: take tramway L2 to Port Lympia, then bus 15 to Passable / Rothschild Cap Ferrat is a peninsula into the Mediterranean just south of Villefranche-sur-Mer and close to Nice on the French riviera. Although a substantial part of the peninsula is now home to the very wealthy who live in luxury villas behind closed entrance gates and high hedges, there are still several attractions and a lovely coastal path for visitors to enjoy. Places to visit: 1) Visit Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild 2) Plage Paloma

50 min from the studio by train (from Nice-St-Augustin) With its wonderful climate and chic reputation, Cannes is a great place to visit. This city, on France’s sparkling Riviera, has many fascinating cultural attractions as well as some great places where you can relax Places to visit: 1) La Croisette - is one of the most iconic streets in France, running the length of the seafront for a mile. 2) Sainte-Marguerite Island - you can get there by boat (http://www.trans-cote-azur.com/depart-cannes/iles-de-lerins-ste-marguerite-bateau-traverse-excursion/) even from Nice 3) Musée de la Castre and Notre-Dame D'Espérance

Places to visit in Nice

The Cours Saleya is an elongated square that, until midday, is filled with stalls of flowers and food, and which later transforms into a huge restaurant under the open sky. Every Monday there is a flea market here, which moves to the Old Port of Nice on other days. Here it is worth trying a traditional pancake made from chickpea flour called Socca

The Old Town of Nice is made up of tall tenement houses lined up along narrow and shadowed streets. The ground floors are occupied by restaurants, shops, and the galleries of local artists. You can buy everything here, from Provencal spices to hand-made jewelry and cosmetics. Just go in and let yourself be carried away by the past, which is still very much present here. The Old Town of Nice is full of historic tenements, churches, and squares. A walk through the narrow and shaded streets allows you to, almost, go back in time and feel the spirit of Old Nice

Castle Hill in Nice (Colline du Château) dominates the city and divides the seaside part of Nice into two parts: the eastern part with the port, and the western part with the Old Town of Nice. The 92 m high hill offers views from all sides, and tourists take the most recognizable photos of Nice from here.

The Old Port of Nice is another of Nice’s attractions. Here you will find some nice views as well as a place for a walk, but most importantly of all, you will circle Castle Hill. From the port, you will also reach Napoleon Bonaparte street and the tenement house where he lived. The Old Port of Nice is actually called Port Lympia.

Garibaldi Square in Nice is one of the city’s great landmarks. From here you can walk to many interesting places or take advantage of the numerous restaurants and cafes located in all corners of this square. Being in Nice it’s hard to miss Garibaldi Square (Place Garibaldi). After Place Massena it is the second most important urban square in the city. The T1 tram goes through the square (and the T2 tram just next to it), and you can easily get there from the Old Port of Nice or the Old Town of Nice. The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art is also right next to the square.

Place Massena is Nice’s main square, and it is from here that it is worth starting your city tour. It is crossed by the Paillon Promenade, which is built over the river. The whole area is a great place to watch the everyday, unhurried lifestyle of the inhabitants of Nice, and relax among greenery and fountains. Place Massena in Nice (Massena Square) is a place you cannot afford to miss. Firstly because of its characteristic checkerboard, made of pavement tiles across its entire surface. The second reason is the main shopping street in Nice that leads to it, and the route from the railway station, Avenue Jean Médecin, where the trams go. Many urban events take place at Place Massena, including the Nice Carnival. From here, you can find roads to the most interesting attractions in the capital of the Côte d’Azur – the Old Town of Nice, the famous Promenade des Anglais, and Castle Hill. Together with the Paillon Promenade going east and west, Place Massena creates a Nice showcase.
