Sightseeing
Newbury is a very convenient central location from which to explore further afield in any direction. Oxford is 40 minutes to the north. Southampton is 45 minutes to the south, with The New Forest, Bournemouth or Portsmouth a little further beyond. Winchester is 25 minutes to the south. Reading and Basingstoke are both within 25 minutes to the east. Hungerford is 25 minutes to the west of Newbury, with Marlborough another 10 minutes beyond.
We are located on the edge of the common with easy access on foot or bike. For truly wide open spaces, it’s a great place to visit whatever the weather. There are cattle grazing and New Forest ponies running wild. The Control Tower has been transformed into a cafe and museum. There is also a Greenham Common Peace Camp Memorial Garden to visit near the entrance of the business park. Cyclists can ride all the way into Newbury across the common.

Food scene
There are numerous coffee shops, bars, restaurants and pubs in Newbury. Too many to list here.
Also many of the typical range of fast food and takeaway options.
Being a few miles out of town, we usually order and then collect, but most will deliver and most are on Just Eat.
Beyond those listed below, country pubs a little further afield include Furze Bush, The Bunk, Carpenters Arms, Carnarvon Arms (next to Highclere Castle), The White Horse, The White Hart.
Tesco Extra is the nearest supermarket on the edge of Newbury closest to us. There is also M&S Food and LIDL in Newbury Retail Park opposite (next to McDonalds). There is a large Waitrose in Thatcham town centre, plus several co-ops and Budgens around the area.

There are numerous gyms and leisure centres in Newbury including Nuffield Health, David Lloyd, Anytime Fitness, Lifestyle Fitness, bstFitness and Northctoft Leisure Centre (which has indoor pool and outdoor lido).
Public Tennis courts can be booked in Victoria Park.
There is a great variety of local fishing.
Clay Pigeon Shooting, laser quest, paint-balling etc. can all be found locally.
