Neighborhoods
The urban neighborhood of North Park is located northeast of downtown San Diego, skirting the northern edge of Balboa Park. The vibe of North Park is best summed up by its spot-on Forbes Magazine's list of "American's Best Hipster Neighborhoods." With its trendy restaurants, art galleries, and thrift and boutique shopping, North Park is a mecca for a diverse and relatively young population. Charming Craftsman homes sit amidst ubiquitous apartment buildings, old and new. The community is made up of longtime residents, recent transplants, young families, and everything in between. You will find many of the best Southern California Craft Breweries along 30th St., farmer’s markets on N. Park Way, and great restaurants everywhere. It’s a great neighborhood to walk around and just take it in. However, San Diego is still very much a driving city. Don’t forget about South Park. There are great bars, restaurants, and shopping and another great neighborhood for a walk.

It’s a bit of a drive up to Oceanside but this is one of the best restaurants in Southern California. This Mexican Chef just earned his first Michelin Star after only being open two years. Bonus- the Top Gun House is just outside the entrance and was recently remodeled as an ice cream shop
