Very close by, a great place to have a walk round, lots of history, plenty of cows and sheep and sometimes frogs in the curling loch to see. I think the cafe is shut just now unfortunately.

A lovely little town to visit, two great playgrounds beside the river, a really nice high street with cafes and an Ice Cream parlour. Swimming pool if the weather is not so good.
Peebles is bike central as well as it’s home to Glentress https://forestryandland.gov.scot/visit/forest-parks/tweed-valley-forest-park/glentress world class mountain bike centre, nice cafe and shop too.
