Eastbourne and Days Bay
This village is a 10 minute walk from our apartment along the sea front promenade. It has a well stocked convenience Four Square Supermarket. The 'IP Man' pub is good for meals and craft beer. Hive Cafe serves, breakfast, snacks and good coffee. Tartines the French Cafe / Deli has a great vibe, beautiful pastries and good coffee. The deli has fresh artisan bread on weekends and a great supply of cheese, cold meats, chutneys and delicious ready meals to go. 'Spices Curry Shop' do a great curry, eat in or take away. 'Golden Takeaways' and 'Piranha Fish and Chip's' are all on Rona Street. There are some lovely walks in the Eastbourne hills, the track to Butterfly Creek leaves from the south end of Muritai Road, it is one of the easy walking tracks in the hills behind Eastbourne. The tracks go from easy to intermediate and are well maintained and sign posted. The sea views are perfect. Most of the tracks have a gentle climb to the first ridgeline. The track sign postings are good, a reasonable level of fitness is required.

The town of Petone is on route to the city of Wellington.
It is vibrant, slightly alternative with a variety of cafes and restaurants. The Lighthouse Cinema is on Beach St.
Petone is easily accessible by bus or car from Eastbourne. Its nice to walk the Petone beach, then drop in to Seashore Cafe or back to Jackson Street for an excellent variety of shops, cafes, bars & restaurants.
