The area where they have the caves is really nice, they generally have art displayed all around, and the tour through the cave is a nice experience, easy walk. I wish they had the history of Costa Rica inside of the caves instead of European, so I am not recommended this fully, but it may be interesting to you. From Atenas is around 30 minutes drive.

I wish they had the history of Costa Rica inside of the caves instead of European, so I am not recommended this fully, but it may be interesting to you. From Atenas is around 30 minutes drive.
It is around 25 minutes from the house, easy to get there. The place is very neat and beautiful. The animals are very well taken care of. They are doing a really nice job there. I wouldn't go to their restaurant thought, the service was great, but the food, really poor.

It is a beautiful botanical garden to explore exotic plants and flowers, and the tour is very intersting. It is approximately one hour from our house if not too much traffic. The official name if you search is THE GREEN ARK FOUNDATION

This is an amazing and peaceful place to connect with nature. It is around 1 hour and 10 minutes from the house, has a butterfly and humingbird santuary, a trial of 3 km to walk in the middle of the forest, has a lake with pic nic arae, and wonderful coffee place. The price is very affordable as well. Highly recommended.

This place has an amazing vegan restaurant, different adventure activities, and you could tour the rescue of cats and dogs that host up to 1000 animals. It is 1.5 hours from the house.

This is a wonderful/ interactive museum for kids, has a lot of spaces indoor and outdoor to explore, it is very well mantained and a lot of fun for the whole family. It is about one hour from the house without traffic.

We love this place, it is mainly local people with very good local food, very nice service, and happy atmosphere. We always go there with our kids or by ourselves and enjoy food and place.

This place is very nice to go out in Atenas, on Fridays and Saturdays they have many times live music. The crowd is mainly locals, very chill and nice atmosphere. The food is good for a bar-restaurant, and the service is also good. Very well located.
