Brighton has one of the most impressive Victorian sewers in the country. I have not done the trip but people that have speak highly of it. A must stop visit if you have any plumbers in your group.

This is the oldest electric railway in the world. Check their website for running times as sometimes these are reduced in the Winter. This leaves from the Brighton Palace Pier and goes all the way to Brighton Marina. It is quite good fun.

These were closed to prisoners in 1922 but it has reopened as a police museum. They also organise paranormal tours here on Saturday evenings as it is filled with ghosts of previous felons.

This a great place to hire bicycles and to cycle to Rottingdean and see. Every day the sea looks different and when the tide is out there are rockpools which you can explore. The beach is much quieter here and you may wish to take a picnic here. There are plenty of cafes and ice cream shops on route. The closest bicycle hire is in Brunswick Place north

It is being developed by staff & volunteers as a heritage centre and museum, with its activities funded through The Brunswick Town Charitable Trust, a charity set up to support the project in 1992. More about us.

During the First World War injured Indian soldiers were hospitalised in the Royal Pavilion, Dome and Corn Exchange. The Royal Pavilion was the first Indian hospital to open in Brighton. The Hindus and Sikhs who died were cremated on the Downs and, in 1921, the Chattri memorial was constructed on the cremation site.
Immediately to the south of the Chattri is Chattri Down Site of Nature Conservation Importance (SNCI), most of which is open access land. Chattri Down supports a species-rich chalk grassland habitat and is in the South Downs National Park.
The views are spectacular and is a peaceful location to take a picnic to and enjoy the countryside.
