An unexpected gem in an odd spot, this restaurateur knows what he is doing, and he's doing it purely for the love! You will taste in the food and feel in the service. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy. Just read the Yelp or Google reviews (nearly 5 stars average) but check the hours! They only open evenings Thurs-Sun. A good stop on the way to the cabin if you want to eat somewhere cool & unique before arriving.

More of an iconic Glacier restaurant in the historical sense. On the wall are old photos of the first lodge built at the Mt Baker Ski Area and newspaper clippings of major events in Glacier's past as a wild old logging town. We call the giant wood stove in the middle of the dining area "the mother ship" so if you're chilly, this is the stop. Decent food for "the country" and PNW beer standards.

A long and gradual climb to Hannegan Pass with stunning views of the Nooksack Cirque (a glacier carved valley) and Ruth Mtn to motivate you. The 5 mile dirt road from Hwy 542 is rough but passable in most cars in summer. This is a cross-country ski or snowshoe route in winter.

Nice moderate trail along the North Fork of the Nooksack with beautiful trees and views of the incredible rapids. This is an advanced kayaker's paradise but accessible for an easy walk. You may have to climb over some downed trees until the Forest Service cleans it up (we did some basic maintenance with hand saws).
