The building houses 3 different restaurants. The owner/chef is Dylan Mc Grath who was the host on masterchef Ireland. He has an amazing way with food - the flavours and textures of everything on the menu is hard to beat. As the name suggests you can order dishes that are cooked on a hot stone at your table or if you don't fancy that there are plenty of other dishes. The Polenta Fries are my favourite. I dream about them :-) This is also where I went on my first date with my now husband.

Drinks & Nightlife

Whelans is an iconic live music venue. They have expanded over the years and internally it is now a warren of little rooms & stages. The main bar is great on a Friday night for 1990's Indie Classics and there are always interesting acts playing throughout the venue. Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, Paddy Casey, The Stripes, The Blizzards, Lisa Hannigan and David Grey would all have graced the stages in Whelans.

If you are going to try Guinness in Ireland then try it here. They also do traditional pub toasted sandwiches. Ham/Cheese and Tomato with or without Onions. For when you have missed dinner and have had one too many Guinness!

It means beautiful harbour in Irish. It came into existence as a small suburb south of the city in 18th century. During the following century it was completely developed, transforming an area of private estates and farmland into Victorian red-bricked living for the middle classes and terraced housing bordering the canal for the working classes. As a fast-expanding suburb the 19th century attracted many upwardly-mobile families whose members went on to play important roles in politics, the arts and the sciences. Towards the end of the century came an influx of Jews, refugees from pogroms in Eastern Europe, which gave it the name of Little Jerusalem.

St Stephen's Green s a city centre public park. The current landscape of the park was designed by William Sheppard. It was officially re-opened to the public in 1880 by Lord Ardilaun. The park is adjacent to Grafton Street, and to a shopping centre named for it, while on its surrounding streets are the offices of a number of public bodies as well as a stop on one of Dublin's Luas tram lines. The grounds of IMMA are great for families even if you have no interest in Art. It's housed in the 17th-century Royal Hospital that was founded in 1684 as a home for retired soldiers and continued in that use for almost 250 years. It's a striking location modelled on Les Invalides in Paris, it is arranged around a courtyard and the interior has long corridors running along series of modest interlocking rooms. The original stables have been restored, extended and converted into artists' studios, and the museum runs an artist-in-residence programs.
