City/town information

Destin is the home of Crab Island, a sand bar hang out spot that is only accessible by water. A drive here will take you through Fort Walton Beach and Okaloosa Island where you can also find a myriad of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops as well. Traffic will be slow so prepare for it and try not to get frustrated. McGuires is a must stop at place as well as the Boardwalk while in Destin.

Pensacola Beach has a lot of restaurants, shops, and entertainment. Do not take Hwy 98, go across the bridge and take Gulf Blvd aka Hwy 399. You won't have to pay a toll and it's about as fast as 98, only much much better scenery.

Neighborhoods

Navarre Beach is the best beach in Florida, not even a competition. You must beach here! Go to the longest Pier in Florida right across the bridge and you can usually see sea turtles, and other wild life. Bring a fishing pole and try pier fishing. There are numerous parking areas along the beach road so if one place is full, you can keep driving to others, they continue down the entire island every few miles.

At the tip of Santa Rosa Island lies an old Civil War fort at the mouth of the Pensacola Bay Pass. Fun to walk around and see the remains of the fort and the beautiful views of the pass and it's emerald green waters.
