It only takes about an hour to walk the whole loop, which is perfect for a little outing (especially if you have kids!). The admission is very affordable and the cafe food is actually pretty good!

This desert botanical garden is a hidden gem! The winding desert trails are beautiful and great for family and nature photos. Check their website for different events and activities- they often have free happy hour type events
