The historical beginning of Taksim Gezi Park, located in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, dates back to 1806. Located between Taksim Square and Elmadağ districts, the park was built in 1806 under the name of Halil Pasha Artillery Barracks. It has seen many wars and has been repaired many times. However, although it has great architectural importance, it was decided to demolish it by Lütfi Kırdar, who was the Governor of Istanbul in 1940. After the barracks were demolished, the areas of the hotels built around it were arranged and this park area became smaller and smaller. However, Taksim Gezi Park, which still welcomes its visitors, is one of the important recreation areas today. The park, which is frequently innovated, becomes more attractive with each new look. You can take a walk in the morning or enjoy reading a book to Gezi Park, which is the breathing space of Taksim.
