See & Do

Originally opened in 1879 to assist in the defence of Port Phillip Bay from a feared Russian invasion, the railway proved more useful carrying visitors to the popular resort town of Queenscliff until the line's closure almost 100 years later. Today it's a great way for cyclists and walkers to discover the Bellarine Peninsula. Starting at the showgrounds on the outskirts of Geelong, the gentle climb towards the half-way point of Drysdale is rewarded with fine views back over Geelong and north to Corio Bay and the You Yangs. From the restored Drysdale railway station, the trail runs alongside the historic Bellarine Peninsula Railway, with vintage trains operating regularly. It's an easy ride through areas rich in wildflowers and native bird life to Queenscliff. Explore the historic town, take a boat trip into Port Phillip Bay or the ferry across to Portsea or Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula. Location: Geelong to Queenscliff Length: 32.5km Cycle: 2.5 hours one way Track: Good Grade: Moderate Start: South Geelong (near the showgrounds) Finish: Queenscliff.

Little Creatures Brewing was born out of the love of great beer shared by a few good mates. In particular, it was a hop driven pale ale they tasted in the north west of the United States that really captured their hearts and gave rise to this little brewery that began on the water's edge in Fremantle. Throughout the years, Little Creatures Brewing have created a little family of beers that they brew today with the same enthusiasm and drive as the day they began. And while Little Creatures Brewing continue to grow and stretch their horizons, they are still excited by and are motivated to make better beer with greater consistency each day. After many years it made sense to set up a home away from home on the East Coast. It needed to be the right kind of place though, with a community they could get amongst and a building that needed a bit of love. The Valley Worsted Mills in Geelong, Victoria were bang on and the time is now right.

We Italians like to say that a gesture is worth 1000 words. When our hands aren’t in use, creating or experimenting with canvas and brushes, marble and chisel, pan and pot, we mould air with our fingers. CHE VUOI which translates to ‘what do you want’ is often an involuntary gesture, something we can’t help doing… Like sharing our love for Nonna’s rustic family dishes, fresh homemade pastas, artisan wood fire pizzas and great wines in a simple and relaxed atmosphere. We would be humbled to see you come as a guest and leave as a friend. Ciao & Buon Appetito…
