What to see and visit in Budva

WHAT TO SEE (VISIT) IN BUDVA OLD TOWN is a must see hot spot in Budva. Just a few minutes walking distance from the house. A special point in the Old town is the CITADELA (there is a small entrance fee) with a small museum and a beautiful view to the Old town, nearby St. Nicola island and Budva’s surroundings. There are two churches next to the Citadela, one Catholic and one Orthodox. You can take a walk on the Old town walls (1km approx.)  There is also an Archaeological museum with a nice collection of artefacts from Greek, Byzantine and Slav culture. Every afternoon there is an antiquary market nearby, close to the Casper cafe. The Old town is full of different shops, pubs and restaurants as well. BEACHES IN BUDVA (walking distance): The nicest beach in Budva is MOGREN beach. You can reach it by a remarkable pathway along the cliffs. It is shown on the MAP 2 of "The House Manual". Another beach, SLOVENSKA PLAZA is in the opposite direction, you can reach it if you turn left from the Port. You can easily find it on the MAP 3 of "The House Manual". If you like to walk, there is a sidewalk along the coast line which brings you from Budva to Bečići, through a tunnel. In this case you can enjoy swimming in a natural sandy BEČIĆI beach, shown on MAP 3 of "The House Manual". At the Port there are plenty of taxi boats available to transfer you to the beaches on the nearby island, St. Nicolas. BEACHES AROUND BUDVA: You can reach them by a local bus (“Mediteran Express” company). The buses depart very close to the house (from the roundabout in Mediteranska street - marked on the MAP 1 of "The House Manual") . There is a timetable and pricing available at the stop. You can visit beautiful sandy beaches like JAZ, BEČIĆI, KAMENOVO, a stone beach PLOČE, or shallow water sandy beach TRSTENO (convenient for kids). There is also a nudist (FKK) beach located in south part of JAZ beach. All the beaches are marked on MAP2 and MAP 3 of "The House Manual". RESTAURANTS & CAFES: The food and drinks are served throughout a day. You can find many many restaurants, bars &  cafés in the Old town, but also along the coast line, by walking from the Port by the sea. My special recommendation is Old Fisherman’s Pub (located in the park next to the Port) and Restaurant Jadran which is on the way to the SLOVENSKA PLAZA. NIGHT LIFE: There are plenty of pubs and clubs with different kinds of music, beverages and entertainment in the Old Town but also along the pedestrian area on the coastline. Open air entertainment is available till 01 h. After this time, the night life continues in closed spaces. ISLAND ST.NICOLAS (also called Hawaii or Školj): It is situated very close to Budva. It is very recommendable to take a round trip by boat (if the weather allows it) and spend some time there and  swim in the secluded beaches. There are also a few bars available in the island. MOVING AROUND ON FOOT:  Walking in Budva is recommendable along Budva’s beaches towards Bečići. There is a pedestrian tunnel between the two towns. If you continue walking along Bečići beach you will find another pedestrian tunnel which will take you to a very nice Kamenovo beach, with a café/restaurant. This tour is approx.6 km long. It can be done on foot or by bicycle.
