Motueka is approximately 20 minutes from Moonraker House and is our local main town. The diversity of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs makes it an ideal location for all your retail requirements. Activities based in Motueka include scenic flights, sky diving, wine tours and much more. Motueka is located at the mouth of the world famous trout fishing river that the town takes it's name from, The Motueka River.
Early settlers founded this fishing port and the wreck of the Janie Seddon, a once well known fishing boat, can still be seen at the town's old jetty.
There is a safe saltwater swimming area for families, it also makes a great spot for a picnic.
Motueka also hosts our closest information centre where you can get expert advice on may of the regions must see and do activities.
