This is a fantastic lake with a pebbly beachlike shoreline. In July and August the water is as warm as a swimming pool and is clean mountain water. A great place for a swim and picnic. There are also a number of walking and hiking trails including the Grand Siblini Ring . We have two favorite viewpoints – one at the top of the village of Tribbio at the castle and the other is on a road which takes you right over the top of the mountains to a flat plain [1350m] with a viewing point where on a clear day you can see the sea and to the Conero peninsula and beyond Ancona which over 50 miles.

Sightseeing

The Caves here are quite spectacular and have a real ‘wow’ factor. They were only discovered in the 1970s by accident and have stalagmites that stand 30ft high and have a series of 5 caves the largest of which you could fit St Paul’s Cathedral in. They have guided tours in English. [about 2 hours drive]
