Check Whallonsburg Grange website for programming. They offer a lecture series, music concerts, movies and a variety of other programming. Summer Swimming Info: Under the bridge at the end of Leaning Road (where the house is) are lovely falls at the end of the road to the east where people sun bathe and dip into. Not exactly for swimming. Under the bridge behind the Whallonsburg Grange is another great swimming area with a nice sandy bottom. The Grange is just 2.5 miles from the house on Route 22. Long Pond and Highlands Forge Lake Willsboro Split Rock Falls Located on the Boquet River, Split Rock Falls features three drops and a large rock that is split, causing water to flow into two different paths. This breathtaking waterfall is off of US 9 in Elizabethtown, and is a short walk from the parking lot. Wade or swim in the large pools of water downstream from the falls. Chapel Pond After hiking the surrounding Giant Mountain Wilderness, take a refreshing dip in Chapel Pond. Located along Route 73 in Keene, Chapel Pond is easily accessible. While you’re there, watch for birds like the Peregrine Falcon or hawks, and check out the sandy beach on the east end of the pond. Lincoln Pond Designated swimming areas are available at some DEC facilities. Based on staffing, some of these facilities may have limited swimming hours/days. For the safety of our customers, swimming will only be permitted when a lifeguard is on duty. Beach hours will be posted at facilities with swimming.
