This is a great new science museum that opened in the summer of 2013. It's an amazing museum but I recommend going in the afternoon to avoid being ambushed by school children on field trips.

If you can catch a concert at the Meyerson Center do, it has perfect acoustics and every seat in the hall is a great seat.

It's not the Met but it's a very respectable art museum that nearly always has interesting special exhibits to see. Across the street is the Nasher sculpture museum which is also worthwhile.

Food Scene
D Magazine has recognized it as one of the best pizzas in Dallas. I'm not sure its the best in Dallas but it's definitely the best you can walk to in less than 10 minutes. Great brunch on the weekends with $2 mimosas.

The Dallas Farmers market is open every day of the week but is really worth a visit on the weekends when all of the local vendors show up with their wares. In addition to fruits and vegetables you will find several restaurants and retail stores.
You can also find great tacos (la ventana), seafood (Rex's) and pizza (Bellatrino) among other options if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. And, it's less than a 5 minute walk from our place.

Farmers Market
The Dallas Farmers market is open every day of the week but is really worth a visit on the weekends when all of the local vendors show up with their wares. In addition to fruits and vegetables you will find several restaurants and retail stores.
You can also find great tacos (la ventana), seafood (Rex's) and pizza (Bellatrino) among other options if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. And, it's less than a 5 minute walk from our place.
Our favorite Tex-Mex restaurant downtown is located right across from the Perot Museum and a short walk from the American Airlines Arena. The brisket tacos or enchiladas are the fantastic as are their avocado margaritas.

This Mexican place is 5 minutes from our place. They have a good happy hour that goes until 7pm. We always order the trompo tacos, you can get like 10 tacos with all the fixings for $20 which is perfect for 2 people. Also, the salsa they serve with the free chips and salsa is absolutely delicious! It also serves brunch on the weekends.

This Mexican place is 5 minutes from our place. They have a good happy hour that goes until 7pm. Sightseeing
Very cool bronze statue of 49 larger than life longhorn cattle. All together, it's the largest bronze monument of it's kind in the world. If you are walking to the convention center you'll walk right by them. If your not going to the convention center then you should still go see this.

A must see on a trip to Dallas is the 6th floor museum and grassy knoll where President Kennedy was assassinated.

It's not just fish... it's reptiles, amphibians and lots of birds. It's actually a pretty good aquarium for a landlocked place like Dallas and very reasonably priced. It closes at 5:00 though so go early.

Just around the corner is the green door pub. The food is unusually good for a bar. It has local beers on tap and better than average karaoke on the weekends. The kitchen is open until midnight and the bar until 2.

It's a sports bar, so it's got big TVs and beer if you want to catch the game. I love to go there even when there isn't a game for their yummy buffalo chicken sandwiches.
