A great place to meet up with friends All kinds of everything are on sale here On Fridays it is mostly fresh produce There are little places you can pick up a snack or a meal and some lovely fresh artisan breads. On Saturdays and Sundays there are craft stalls as well as eateries and other things n sale There is usually entertainment so if the day is wet no better place to while away the time and soak in the atmosphere of an historic market.

It is a very interesting museum but allow about 3-4 hours in order to get the most from your visit The Titanic Hotel was once the drawing office where the plans for the ship were made. The location is a nice place to walk around on a good day by the waterfront.

Lovely place for a walk it has beautiful grounds and is the hole of the local government assembly. If you take a bus tour you will be taken round most of the interesting and historic sights of Belfast and entertained with a commentary and local humour and anecdotes.

I believe it is an interesting place to shop close to city centre and plenty of eateries around the area too. If you want to wash a meal down with a pint there are several excellent pubs which serve great food as well

An interesting church of Ireland cathedral in what is known now as the Cathedral Quarter. This area is full of quirky little eateries and pubs with entertainment and a firm favourite with younger folk. New buildings for student accommodation are almost completed now as the university of Ulster campus relocates to this part of the city. I believe admission to the cathedral is charged.

There are several tour operators who will take you on a pre-booked tour of this wonder of the world or you can go by yourself either driving or by public transport to Coleraine and picking the little bus that goes all around the north coast. I cannot recommend the north coast and the Antrim Glens highly enough A fantastic day out and spectacular scenery

Where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea. This is spectacular countryside with the famous stone ditches made by locals. You can do a tour from Newcastle on a wee tour bus which you can book and go all round the mountain visiting Spelga Dam and the Silent Valley with Tollymore Forest Park. Co Down is a beautiful county with drumlins which were formed by the ice melting after the Ice Age, There are lovely little seaside villages and towns along the coast. Ardglass,Kilkeel and Portavogie are notable fishing ports. In Portaferry there is the Exploris Aquarium, and there is a ferry linking Portaferry to Strangford across Strangford Lough, I know of two restaurants I could recommend in Strangford The Cuan and the Lobster Pot. Great food!

Downpatrick holds St Patrick's Grave and a lot of history relating to our national saint. There are guide led walking tours available in the area and the guides take yo to all the historic spots where the saint was . The guides are very knowledgeable and you will come home with a great deal of inspiration after accompanying them around the district of Lecale> The jail houses a lot of history. The famous Thomas Russell, one of the United Irishmen known as "the Man from God knows where ",was hanged in Downpatrick jail .Not a beautiful town but a lot of historic value and the hinterland if worth the trip.
