This is Canterbury's oldest town founded in 1840 by French Settlers. It is an amazing place to visit. Approximately an hour and a half from the city on Banks Peninsula. There are dolphin tours, markets, hiking tracks and lovely eating places. On the way there is a great winery and a cheese factory.

If you prefer a leisurely walk you can stroll along the adjoining beach. Perhaps enjoy a coffee and snack or lunch at the beautiful Beach cafe or buy something yummy from 'The Naked Baker' close by.
