Sightseeing

From the Durie Hill tower you have outstanding views over the beautiful city of Whanganui and out to the river mouth. The Whanganui River winds its way around the city. There are also stunning views to Mt Ruapehu and Mt Taranaki on a clear day. Sunset is a good time to take in the view. You can either get there by driving up the second road on the right when you cross the town bridge turning left into Anzac Parade and follow the signs. Otherwise, why not take the elevator just at the end of the town bridge.
