A great place to visit, especially with children. There are boat rides available and plenty of swans, ducks and other wild birds to feed. Refreshments are available during the summer months.

Park your car opposite the castle and walk with the stream on your left up to Swanbourne Lake. It's a lovely walk that can be extended to a circular walk around the lake. The cafe serves light bites and tea and cakes.

On the edge of Arundel, within an easy walk of the town centre, Swanbourne Lake is a short, easy, pretty flat, circular walk, suitable for families. There's a kiosk for ice-creams and rowing boats for hire in the Summer months. If you fancy a longer walk other paths join this walk and head up into the hills.

Swanbourne Lake and the park it is located in is one of my favourite places in Arundel (Particularly out of the busy times) It is a wonderful place to walk with beautiful views across the South Downs.

Sadly the cafe is nothing to write home about, but this lake is free entry and is the gateway to great walks through the Norfolk Estate. Go over the hill then follow the river and you will find yourself back at The Hay Store around one and a half hours later!
