There is a tour available, but honestly the 360 degree views of the forest, Sacramento River, and Shasta Lake are breathtaking.

Shasta Dam and Shasta Dam trail. Shasta Dam trail is a short drive from the Vineyard Cottage. It is the largest water reservoir in the State of California. It’s a beautiful spot to picnic at the park near the walking trail, and deer frequent the area.

Shasta Dam is an engineering feet that is worth seeing! They also do free tours that take you down into the dam! It's a very cool experience.

Take a stroll on the dam between Shasta Lake and high above the Sacramento River. It’s especially beautiful at sunset!
